no but it says "up to". which means you can target nothing with it.

Thanks Demo, had actually just saw this today.
Went over the recipe I sent you and started taking things out and throwing in more soldier theme to compliment the deck. Admittedly didn't want to add in Sinew and Steel because it is a MUST target, and if I have say a planeswalker out. I MUST target it since it's not a MAY clause

Thank you for the recommendations! I'm gonna edit the deck with those creatures you mentioned and will be revisiting your volrath decktech video for more suggestions. The Thought Sponge over Toothy is an auto-switch, I'm glad you were able to find that. Ana Sanctuary is in there because of your video, so all credit to you! The mana dorks are in there for the exact reason you said- that I can use them as mutate targets if I dont draw any of my actual targets.. but I'll be taking your suggestion to just make them land ramp. Its too risky relying on them for ramp. I did want to explain the inclusions of manaplasm and wake thrasher - both are my hidden gems of the deck! Mutating onto manaplasm will give brokkos a +5/+5 increase until end of turn, let alone any other cards I cast the turn im swinging in. If Wake Thrasher is on the battlefield when I untap, it will get +1/+1 for each permanent I untap for the turn including lands. This usually ends up with my wake Thrasher getting +6/+6 after my untap step just from the lands im untapping, then I can mutate onto it to swing in with an 11+/11+ brokkos. I'm ordering the cards you mentioned now and hope to show off the new suggestions in a game sometime!
