Hello, everyone! I have finally completed a first cut of my latest documentary video on the history of Nintendo's voice chat software and the 'mystery' around why the Nintendo Switch did not have native voice chat built into it.
This is not the absolutely finalised video; I have still got to add things like the credits roll with your backer credits, polish up some audio editing, and add one more thing, but I desperately wanted to get something out to you lot as soon as I could. I have been working around the clock to get this done for you guys and put a lot of effort in here. The research process was fairly painstaking and the editing has been incredibly involved as well. Hopefully, that level of work shows in the video.
The video gets into a lot of detail on some things that I think most people will never have considered would affect a decision like this from a company like Nintendo, but I think it's a good example of how the public is often not privy to the full picture and there can be a lot of unforeseen external elements at play during game development.
Please let me know what you think! I will be updating this post when I can with an updated video with the backer credits and some minor adjustments. For now, I really need to go to bed... zzzz.
Update: the final video is now available to view at the updated YT embedded video above.
Enjoy :)
