I wouldn't call it camaraderie. They stopped treating each other as enemies, but there is only superficial trust and not much goodwill. Their relationship has some homoerotic undertones though, which is par for course for this story, yet the author is unwilling to explore this aspect of the story for some reason.

2024-08-08 10:02:15 +0000 UTCI thought this before but Kayla and Xianchun really has this odd love-hate dynamic which really feels strangely endearing to me. Like that scene where Xianchun tried to make eye contact with Kayla and how he demands answers straight from Kayla. They have bad history behind them but at the same time has this sort of camaraderie with each other. I really hope that their back and forth continues into the future. And I also really liked the dependence of Yunqi on Kayla when he quickly gained reassurance when he saw her present during their meeting with Xianchun and Mingda. I hope they continue to support each other and have more understanding together. I really loved that kind of dynamic. Thanks for the wonderful chapter!
