Even if his family situation is unknown right now, - it shouldn't be, with surveillance in place - the identities of his loves one's will be exposed quickly. There is also no scenario where they don't get disposed off by their kidnappers. If he confides to the 3rd Prince, there's atleast a miniscule chance of preserving lives. I'd like to add: If I were the Emperor and another one of my sons gets killed, I would definitely get rid of the person, who's supposed to ensure the safety of the imperial family. If Kuang dies, Kayla should be finished.
