Thanks for the chapter! So it seems at the very least minister Liang knows whats going on huh? But since Kayla wants to have him even keep the minister post, I hope he won't cultivate too much of a grudge!

2023-05-31 23:40:52 +0000 UTCIt's both, the usurping of the rightful heir (aka stealing someone's financial and political inheritance), and the falsification of records via bribery of court officials (and since they are a major clan who has to report their affairs to the palace, also the deceiving of the Emperor, which is a serious crime in its own right). The family indeed benefited from his leadership, which is morally grey but still acceptable given that he has a duty to his clan as well as to the line of inheritance, but it becomes morally unacceptable when Minister Liang completely changed the line of inheritance to his own son rather than raising his younger brother to be the new heir. Completely denying his younger brother's parentage and raising Hu Qing as a servant who didn't have the right to be on the family registry also makes things worse.
