Chapter 80-Imperial Bestowment
Added 2022-10-29 17:24:35 +0000 UTCThis is just a reminder that the document can be navigated via headers by opening the side menu! Useful in case you want to check back on names while reading. The sidebar sometimes automatically hides itself, so check on the left side of the headbar if you don't see it.

Bestowing a surname doesn't automatically make her a candidate for the throne, not unless the entire current line dies out (all the Archdukes, all the Princes, and the Third Prince's son; if all the Princes and Kuang's son die out, then the Archdukes would likely be forced to adopt Kayla unless they manage to have a son, since the palace had prevented any of their sons from surviving infancy). However, having an Imperial bestowment on top of blood relations can be very useful in many contexts such as setting up a government-in-exile in case of an invasion, in justifying a rebellion/coup/deposing an Emperor.
