Dungeon Lyte

I don't have a new adventure for you this January, but I do have something I know a lot of you have been interested in.

This is Dungeon Lyte, a rules-light Dungeon Crawler borne out of my "Dungeon World Lite" ruleset. (Some of you might have seen this in previous adventures, like By Beard and Ear and Azulgund's Bane.) For the first time, I'm releasing this as a stand-alone ruleset. Anything that works with Dungeon World should work with Dungeon Lyte, including (obviously) my own adventures.

I'll be posting Dungeon Lyte on DTRPG (or similar) by the end of February, but as patrons you're getting an early sneak-preview now. Feel free to share parts and screengrabs of the PDF with your thoughts online, and spread the word if you think anyone else would be interested in reading or playing this. Thanks all, enjoy!

If I took away only one thing, I would take the "name of weapon" d66 chart and how discussion of it defines characters. I can see this as a core world building device, e.g. "in the wasteland, you are known by your weapon/tool". I think I'm gonna' need a bigger table though!

Short answer, yes - it would lie somewhere between Blades and DW. (See also countdowns in Dark Heart of the Dreamer.)

It has some cool ideas, I like it. I'm wondering if you could elaborate on "dangers" and "how to start and progress dangers". Is that a mix between how Blades in the Dark/Apocalypse World (progress clock) and Dungeon World work? What would you see as good examples for a danger? Some adventure-spanning "danger" (the evil duke will take over the city) or can it be smaller?
