Sneak Peek and Update
Added 2017-12-22 18:39:41 +0000 UTCHellooo I'm still alive. I've been writing code the past couple days for a project started before the house burned down. It's the second in our TDAFIBWMIASITTA series (they didn't ask for it but we made it and sent it to them anyways). Most everything was burned, but I grabbed the main piece we had spent that entire day building :)
Everything, plus some replacement Arduinos, have been re-ordered, and Make Ventura (local maker-space) gave us keys to their shop. Side note; I spent like 3 hours yesterday trying to install FTDI drivers for the Arduino knockoffs I bought but they were actually using CH340 chips soooooo yeahh...
It's one of the more complicated projects I've done in a while, plus my house burned down so I'm not exactly sure what our timeline on this one is.
Currently I'm in Texas with family (trip planned before fire), but back home we're living in a hotel with my parents. Inspectors have said the insulation in the house needs to be replaced due to asbestos/lead carried in by smoke from all the burned houses. I've heard that may even include wall insulation, which means the house won't be habitable for several months. Basically I'm 90% sure we're spending Christmas in a hotel! hah.
Chelsea and I are looking into buying a house though, so hopefully we can start rebuilding RetinaSmelter
Also I've re-ordered replacement stickers and cattoos!!
That's it! This update is a spicy mess :P
