Update on Willoughby Series Chapter 2

Hello All, I hope you’ve been well.

Just a quick update to let you all know about the progress on Willoughby Chapter 2. The script is complete and totals 22 pages. This will be an almost 2 hour long doc.

The first half I will be focusing on the story of the Macathurs - starting with Douglas Macarthur’s father Arthur MacArthur. We will look at the origins of the US in the Philippines and the three men that had almost full control of American foreign policy in the beginning of the 1900s: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and Elihu Root. I believe it’s essential to understand MacArthur to fully understand Willoughby. There is no other man that had a bigger impact on him than his boss General Douglas MacArthur.

The second half will focus on Willoughby’s time in the Pacific during WWII, following him from the Philippines, to New Guinea and back to the Philippines. We will also be looking at Jack Canon’s start in the far east as well 👁️. This will be in depth and will lay the pieces out for his time in post war Japan, which will be chapter 3.

I know many don’t have time to commit to a 2 hour long video, so I will split it into two like earlier in the year. This is all one story but for easier viewing I will split it.

Still have to edit which should take a little bit given it’s a long video but I promise it’ll be worth it. This will be a sprawling and deep history that will feed right into hopefully my magnum opus with chapter 3 in Japan. I have spent a lot of time researching modern Japan recently and I think I have some really great nuggets to share.
