VTTA D&D Beyond Integration (Public Release)

I hereby announce the transition to vtta.io as complete - well, as complete as it ever will be since it will always be a moving target (WotC just announced a new book targetting Dragons - exciting!).

Thank you!

Your support was and is invaluable. You make these tools a possible and with your past and on-going contributions we can make these tools a real diamond in Foundry's arsenal of magnificient modules.

And I really do think that these tools can make a difference in regard to piracy: Usage of your licenced content from D&D Beyond into Foundry VTT is now a solution available at no additional cost. Together with D&D Beyond's generous campaign sharing mechanism and the availability of VTTA.io tools the hurdle to enjoy a fully legal D&D session surely is lowered by quite a margin, having a positive impact on the image of Foundry VTT as a tabletop software in general, too.

Enjoy these tools and make the most out of your sessions!

From Beta to Release

There are some things you should know about the release:

1) The Chrome extension is now available on the Chrome Webstore: Get it here. Uninstall the extension loaded in developer-mode and re-install it from the webstore to enable updates in the future.

2) The modules vtta-ddb and vtta-tokens are available in the Foundry module installer as of yesterday. Uninstall the manually installed modules and reinstall from the module installer to enable updates in the future.

Note: vtta-core will be installed automatically when installing either of those modules, so it's not listed on the Foundry module installer as of now. I don't know if that is more confusing than helping, but I do not want to polute the module installer overview more than necessary in the first attempt.

3) On this extension update, your currently sync'ed VTTA.io user in the extension is cleared from the extension's memory. This ensures that the correct user data is inserted into the extension after the infrastructure move.

Important: If you are not updating, but re-installing after deleting the beta extension, you must do this manually this time: Go to the extension's options to Clear the connected user by using the red "Clear Cache" button, if you are still connected.

Connect by visiting your VTTA.io user profile once after the successful update/ re-install of the extension.

That's it!

You are then good to go! Please join the Discord to report back any issues, just use the appropriate channels. We already saw some of them popping up, but most are related to the user account having old data in it. So please make sure to follow the instructions above, especially when you are seeing images not being loaded (this is the sole requirement for the account connection: authenticating to the VTTA.io image proxy).

I will be making a day-trip with my family today and will be available late at night (at my time, so in the evening for you US folks).

Stay lovely,

Sebastian

Seriously, thank you! I used a non-dnd system in Foundry and just found out how much you spoil us by making everything so easy!

Beebo

I'm getting this too. Also, I'm pretty new... if I load everything from every sourcebook and such (I have Legendary)... so I have to do this with EVERY world I create?

That video is AWESOME! Thank you for making it so easy for D&D Beyond and Foundry to work together so seamlessly!

Hmm... Trying to import PHB, but it gets stuck on Classes page...

Thanks Raimondo!

Sebastian Will

That looks as a great piece of work! Thanks and well done!
