Mainly because they gave us both Kidult and Together back to back and I am genuinely not surprised Kidult’s lyric video has that many views lol. Don’t get me wrong I love the whole album and every song in it but these two are the stars of the show for me. To me the message of Kidult is about that harsh transition from being a Kid all those years to suddenly becoming an Adult and being thrown into this messed up world (something I still struggle with). As you grow up and become an Adult you’re forced to immediately let go of your child self/ways. As you’re an Adult, you’re expected to just live your every day life with tough skin and to not cry like a Kid or show any emotions at all. But life is truly just so hard, complicated, and difficult sometimes and it’s to the point where you just can’t hold back the tears. Then, you remember the good old times, the times when you were just a Kid and life was just so much easier and happy. Times when you didn’t have bills to pay and all these responsibilities that go into becoming an Adult. You then see this younger, innocent, child version of you and you ask yourself “Why did I ever let go of this part of me?”. Kidult’s message is about telling yourself it’s okay to procrastinate and cry like a little Kid when you need to. That it’s okay to take that one day off just because you don’t feel like going into work that day or to have that extra two scoops of ice cream or whatever it may be idk LOL. It’s about finding that inner child that you hid away within yourself and embracing it, which holds such a beautiful message to me. Then they put Together directly after that. Kidult and Together go very hand in hand and the meanings can intertwine. Again, in Together they talk about that every day tiring routine of every day life. Wake up, work/school, go home, sleep, repeat. It’s just a constant cycle. Sometimes it really gets to you but it’s about the people you surround yourself that makes it worth while. They don’t know where life will take them but as long as they go together they’ll be just fine and everything will turn out positive no matter what. Together is about finding amazing people to surround yourself with because in the end, those friends and family will always be your drive to do well, be happy and be healthy in life. That’s what truly living is about and seeing SVT have that for each other and the way they display that for us in their music and variety content is what inspires me everyday. Their drive and dedication for what they do helps make me strive for the best and I’ll always appreciate them for that. Okay sorry this was over-the-top and A LOT… IM SORRY LOL but Thank You for listening to my TED Talk, aka Yap Session…😂😭 i just really love these two songs so much. <3 p.s. i was genuinely so shocked that you mentioned being on a boat for My My. my jaw dropped 😂
