Finally, the notes that I play are starting to sound good. I've been trying a couple of songs, but now I'm in the beginning phases of arranging.
I've decided to start arranging Koe no Katachi's ending theme, "Koi wo Shita no wa" (The Reason I Fell In Love).
You guys know that I'm only playing songs that strike me deeply. Well, this movie is one of my favorites due to the themes it brings up: bullying, narcissism, depression, self-blame, suicide, and most importantly, forgiveness.
If I was to summarize what struck me the most will be from a YouTuber who have analyzed the movie who said, "You are not your mistakes. You are more than your misgivings and you deserve your own happiness". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hoNVcz5mDw
When I try to arrange this, I wrestle with thoughts like "how can I forgive and stop hating myself?", "how can I get over self-blame of my own past mistakes?", "how can I let go of my anger to others?", "how can I be happy?", "how can I make those who I care about happy as well?".
If I can at least have an answer to some of these questions, then I can live a fulfilling life which in turn I will actually be the opposite of a burden. In fact, I'll be someone who has the ability to make other's burdens much lighter. Personally, I think that this would be one of the things that can truly make me feel fulfilled.
I'm not sharing this on any other platform yet as it's a bit too early, but I figured I'd give you guys an update. I'll also be watching the movie again, although it's really painful to watch, to be quite honest.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you'll look forward to the arrangement.
