Livestream: Bitwig 6 Beta release

Bitwig Studio 6 is finally here, and after diving into the beta, I'm genuinely impressed by the updates.

The highlights for me are the new automation system, which now lets you treat automation with the same flexibility as audio and note clips, plus a slew of workflow enhancements like alias clips, improved editing tools, and a global key signature system that ties into various devices.

The interface feels snappier and more polished, the new dark mode is the default, and many small changes add up to make everyday music creation smoother and more creative.

There's a lot to explore, and even after reading the massive changelog, I feel like I’m still discovering new things each time I use it.

Comments

I invested in v5 about a month ago, a Bitwig noob (and, harmonically inept, even with the new keyscales lock thingy on the piano roll, i'll still manage to churn out stuff that sounds more terrifying than Einstürzende Neubauten on a really bad morning, in Berlin, in the mid 80s.) But, i digress, the point about 'muscle memory' is an interesting one. Even after only a coupla weeks (really a few dozen hours) Beta 6 throws me a new layer of bewilderment. Intimidating, but incredibly fascinating. Not complaining at all, love it. I oughta read a book about 'neuroplasticity', but then, that'd be less time spent twiddling with Bitwig, making an infernal racket inside my headphones.

Sorry, put those comments on the wrong thread and now they're in the wrong order... Ha! Thanks for the live stream yesterday!
