Today I'm sharing a new Bitwig preset that's been on my hard drive for quite some time, inspired by the BND device from Colugo.
This preset uses pitch tracking to drive a sine oscillator, applying phase modulation to audio files for unique, pitch-tracked distortion effects.
It's a creative way to add new harmonics or textures to your sounds, whether you're working with basslines or ambient samples. You can download it for free and experiment with it right away to discover some fresh audio possibilities.
Introduction of a new free preset called BND Wave Cycle Bender available for download
Preset provides pitch-tracked distortion by using phase modulation/frequency modulation on audio files
Inspired by the original BND device by Colugo in Reaktor
Designed for use in Bitwig but can be used with audio samples or instrument tracks
The preset detects the pitch of incoming audio or uses MIDI notes to control a sine oscillator for modulation
EQ is used to filter out bass so the effect reacts only to higher frequencies, enhancing the audio’s top end
Adjustable delay time allows you to control the amount of modulation and offset
Works well for adding harmonics and texture to sounds, especially for making basslines less muffled
Device may produce interesting artifacts if pitch tracking breaks, which can lead to unique results
Available for free download on Patreon and GitHub
