Question is, will Kerr be willing to go to younger prospects earlier this season, or is it going to be a repeat of last season?

I get that Trayce shouldn't automatically be the starting 5, and that ideally he'd be a backup big off the bench.
But assuming this is our roster, what do you envision as our starting five, then? Looney back at starting center, hoping he can be more like '22 or '23 Loon? Does Kuminga start, with Draymond moving to center? Our best starting five might just end up being Steph-Melton-Wiggs-Green-TJD. But it's uncertain, for sure.

Yeah, if we can get Lauri for just picks we should go for it, but if not, not end of world I'd rather not chase anyone else that's less than ideal like Ingram or Kuzma. I think the X Factor is Wiggins -- which version of him do we get?

Yea I think either buddy or melton is a better fit than Podz with the starting group. I dont know melton's game as much but i do know he is a solid defender. Having him - wigs - draymond and hopefully TJD in the starting lineup would be a really good defensive unit

Feels like if we ask Buddy to be a starter, we'll be setting him up for disappointment. Melton if healthy is the natural 2 guard who can take some defensive pressure off Steph, with Buddy's natural position being a 6th man bench scorer type
Agreed that Podz should be on the bench too, tho. Probably fits best as a backup PG rn

Listening to the Athletic guys if this Lauri deal doesn't go through sounds like FO is good with this roster going into the season thinking we can hang around the playoff picture to re-evaluate the trade market at the deadline. And tbh I think we can stick around given our depth, just a matter of the right coaching decisions which I have more hope for w/o the Klay elephant in the room (no shade to Klay just is what it is) and an experienced assistant in Terry Stotts.
Just hoping Moody doesn't get buried yet again lmao, but honestly I could see it b/c Podz and Melton are just the perfect Kerr guys and GP2 will get run if he's healthy. Hoping Podz gets the keys to the second unit instead of starting next to Steph, and getting Melton/Moody next to Steph for the defense/size

As soon I saw Bolden hit that first trail three and taking it so confidently and smoothly, the first two words out of my mouth: "Sorry Kevon."
All love and respect to the LoonGod himself. But if we got a younger dude who can play that kind of defense, set good screens, and hit trail threes? I need that man on the roster taking ALL of Kevon's minutes right now.

You opened my eyes with the Brunson comparison, Alc! I saw potential in Podz like you see in any player with the intelligence to back up their confidence, but I never thought his ceiling was all that high.
But with the Brunson comparison in mind, man, I can see how Podz's ceiling is much higher than I thought...
Or course summer league is always too early to say anything with confidence, but I see possibilities for him that I didn't see before!

I like Podz’s confidence but he looked thirsty. That was your favorite word for the recently departed. Hoping his confidence doesn’t write checks his talent can’t back up.

Im starting to think it would be a real mistake if you had to add him to the Lauri deal... I know that sounds crazy

Applying the same logic than last year; Podz looks better and he will look even better playing alongside nba players. We might have enough 👀

Ideally Podz off the bench is the best fit for him next year right? I dont see him as the right 2 guard next to steph? Steph probably gonna have some more ball handling duties again this year. I think I like buddy next to steph for the open looks he will get with the starters vs the bench unit

I’d even start Melton this year at the 2 and hopefully we can figure out who draymonds starting front court mate will be

I’d totally agree, too many people wanna pencil Tjd and podz into the starting lineup, it may have to be that way with but in an ideal world and a championship roster they are your backup PG and Big
