saturday 🦇

hi everyone, i hope you’re all doing ok! you’ll have to forgive me- the days have slipped away from me a bit, and i don’t have too much to share.

this last week i’ve been prioritising working on the halloween zine, but i’m trying not to reveal all of the pages before they’re released so you at least have something of a surprise! it’s progressing well, and i only have a couple of pages left to finish. aiming for early/mid next week 👀💧

the pages i’ve finished so far include:

• a brief history of halloween
• the liminal nature of the bog
• on will o’ the wisps and stingy jack
• things to do (autumnal)
• things to do (spookier)
• the art of the ‘boo basket’
• on decorating/creating a spooky space
• the haunted internet x2
• themed food and drink ideas

this morning i’ve been working on a page for a pumpkin mac and cheese recipe, although this is a last minute squeeze in and should really be a page on desserts/baking 💭 aside from these, the only pages left to complete are on tv/film recommendations and potentially a playlist- these are pages i include most years, and admittedly i’m not feeling very inspired for them 🥲 if they’re something you’d definitely like to see included, please let me know!

this week i’ve also been working on stickers- a freebie graveyard standalone (will be included as a die-cute in physical orders, and the file included with digital) and a sheet of halloween stickers based on elements from the zine. i’ll show both below! these have both been ordered for those in the uk, trying my best to be wary of timings as october progresses 🫡

because of this, there isn’t a video this week- but please rest assured, once this project is wrapped up i’ll be shifting into spooky-girl mode and working on catching up in that area!

not relevant, but this week i also got a couple of new tattoos 🕸️ i’ll share some proper photos once they’re all healed up!

that’s all for today i think, i’m sorry that it isn’t much. i can’t wait to get this zine wrapped up and share it with you asap🤞🏻📓 thanks for your patience and support these last few weeks (months, years). my sleep issues (and the associated side effects) have been making things increasingly difficult, but i’m very glad to be able to share another october with you 🦇🕸️
