Hey lovelies, I don't have a game update for you all this week, but I do have a little treat. Like I said in my intro I've worked on some other games that haven't yet seen the light of day. I thought I'd share some early screenshots from one of them.
The working title of this project is "Sitter." You play a newly graduated high school girl, the game taking place over the course of one summer. The main character (we'll call her "Amber," although the player would get to choose their name), in the interest of keeping her mom out of her business, agrees to babysit for a neighborhood family, and starts up an illicit relationship with the dad. She quickly realizes the money-making potential, and starts expanding her business with a few friends.
The gameplay is heavily narrative-based, but unlike The Weekend it revolves around a timeline and schedule, like a lot of the school-based visual novels and games. There's also some light business management things, as Amber has to deal with her "employees" and their side stories.
The game runs on a custom HTML engine. The character art is strictly placeholder (I just lifted it without asking from the amazingly talented Cyarin: http://cyarindraws.tumblr.com) but it gives an idea of the style I wanted to go for. Everything else is CSS.
Hope you enjoy these sneak peaks! I haven't worked on this project for a little while, but if it's something you guys are interested in I might spend some more time with it (although finishing The Weekend is still my main focus).
