When you actually think about it its even more messed up because their family uses their gifts to serve the community, which means that Bruno doesnt just see visions on his own and go tell the town about what he saw, the people come up to him asking about their future, he then goes to see a vision, and tells them what he saw, then they hate him for the vision they asked him for because it wasnt what they wanted to hear. Also, you mentioned at the beginning how this movie would try and shove a message of acceptance down your throat? No, it does worse than that. We see Isabella being a bullying bi*** to Mirable and Abuela is just a straight up villain, but it Mirabel who has to apologize to Isabella and console Abuela and just brush over how she treated her own family like community slaves to protect her home because of a trauma she went through 50 years ago!
