3D Model Delays

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately, we’re going to have to delay our monthly release of 3D models until this Friday, February 7th. With production delays, we just didn’t feel confident about the package we could release today. We’re incredibly sorry about this, and are working hard to do what we can to reduce and eliminate the production delays that have been compounding the last few months. What happened was a bit of a domino effect. Delays from last year caused delays during the holidays, which added to the delays today.

The good news is that for many of the models, the sculptors are finished but they need a couple more days to be prepared for 3D printing. Coming in late, they still need cuts, pre-supports, etc. And while there are a handful of models that will still be delayed, we would rather have a more robust launch on Friday than disappoint everyone today.

Another thing we’re doing to help is swapping this month’s Legendary model. The Wood Elves Great Owl Chimera was originally going to be released next month, but since the sculpting for it was done early, it is nearly ready to go. So the HDF Super Heavy Tank will be released in March while the Wood Elves Great Owl Chimera joins the February release.

We know that we need to get ahead of the problem. So for a while now we’ve been expanding our sculpting team with new members and working with outside production partners to not only catch up with our monthly production targets, but hopefully build a buffer.

What About January’s Models? - Two of the last three missing units from January’s release, the Wood Elves Deer Leader and Deer Riders, should also be done and released to our January patrons by Friday. The final model, the Wood Elf Giant Beetle has had more issues and we want to make sure that we’re happy with the quality of that sculpt before it is released. January patrons will have all three of missing models added to their MyMiniFactory libraries even if their Patreon subscription isn’t active.

What about the Tier 1 Rewards? - All of our Tier 1 Rewards, such as the new Short Stories + Missions, AoF: Quest and GF: Star Quest campaign chapters, and early access to the Paper Minis are ready to go and will be released today as planned. You can download them right now on our Tier 1 Patreon Rewards post.

We understand that this is disappointing to many of you, and we are deeply sorry. We thank all of you for your support and will do everything we can to improve going forward.

Thank you,

– OPR Team

3D Model Delays

Comments

Thats the problem. They are focused on quantity and expansion.

spoonweasle

Its not that its too fast. Its too much...

spoonweasle

As a new subscriber, I definitely would love a previous month offer for unfulfilled purchases.

Mark Shepherd

Hope you all aren't overwhelming yourselves trying to push things out too fast.

Blitz

I've been a subscriber for a long time and have most of the releases. They won't do it. There has to be a regular release each month or they will lose subs. There is too much competition in this space for monthly releases. They always come through with the models. I'm not worried OPR always delivers.

Nathan Gerardy

As someone who has also only recently joined I like the idea too. It's essentialy the same as having a new realease for us newer folks. like you said it doesn't help the people that have been around the whole time but maybe someone has an idea that would help.

jim bo

I do like this idea to be honest

Dakota Dawn

All good with delays, keep up the amazing work!

Ryan Orsburn

I like that idea.

Fat Folks

I’ve only been here since September 2024 but I’ve noticed this trend more than once during my short time as a subscriber. I’m not worried about waiting for the minis, like others I can’t print them fast enough. 😉 With that in mind it’s clear you need time to catch up so why not take a “gap month” every now and then, giving out single use 100% discounts in the store for the purchase of a prior month’s release? I’m not sure what you’d do for those who’d been here since day one, but for those of us who’d been here a while something like this would let us take a stab at a different army before committing to the full thing.

Robert Ullhorn

I’d always rather have a delay and your usual excellent quality than have it be rushed and shoddy. Thanks for the update, and no worries!

Doc Webb

Then they need to prioritize your deadline, which I'm sure you have let them know. It's just the manager coming out in me.

Marc Acosta

Absolutely the way to go. Quality over deadlines.

Space Hedgehog

Worry not guys, few days of delay is not a big deal, I wish my backlog of delays and minis was only few days long :D

Bartosz Brzeziński

Thanks for the update, I am not disapointed, I am happy that you take a few days to ensure quality

Patrick Diederiks

Not disappointing to me. Happy you are taking the time you need to get them right. If they all get released sometime in February, then in my mind they are not late. & even when things are late & push in to another month, sometimes life happens.

Alex W

I have just joined the patron and from my perspective it is a few days to wait, it isn't months behind. I would rather have something that isn't rushed to meet a deadline.

Stephen Renwick

No worries, things happen.

Wade Adams

Dont sweat it.. im way behind in my print log anyways..

Jeffrey Henriksen

Deer lancers?

Guzzoid

There will be a few Feb models that might not make Friday's release, but we hope to have most items.

onepagerules

All good. I appreciate the honesty and transparency. I'd rather you take your time to get it done right than get it done right now and put out a sub-standard release.

DT

Update appreciated. I look forward to getting them when they're ready. Really enjoying the current releases.

Sven Carpenter

I'm in for the long haul. Subbing so I can have an extensive library of great models. Rushed models are no good. Take your time, no stress~

Tobias Struwe

I really appreciate the clear communication of your guys’ plans to address the issue

twitch049

Life happens to everyone. Remember: you can always blame it on Chinese New Year like every other game company.

thuly

That's a good point, we will extend the Painting Contest deadline.

onepagerules

Worth the wait.

Matt Thompson

All good, much better to have things that work when they're ready, than broken things on a date.

Adrian Giddings

That is the priority, but because different models are sent to different artists, they come in at different times.

onepagerules

Always happy to look at new portfolios. Email jobs@onepagerules.com

onepagerules

Hi, are you still looking for 3d artists? I work in the video games industry and I know multiple great artists looking for jobs.

Gaulwa

Where it may not bother some patrons, myself included, I do see where it could not garner confidence in the brand. It's good that you are actively working on these known issues. I would say getting last months files out would/should be paramount to things for this month. Just from a logistical view point.

Marc Acosta

While I'm sad about it, as I would've loved to paint them starting today, I *will* ask you to please extend February's painting contest deadline. Other than that, take as much time as you (the team) needs. Whatever the reason for the delay, it is preferable to having things well done rather than rushed.

Garboq

I understand that delays happen, but I would have really appreciated a heads-up. I stayed up waiting, only to find out that I'd need to wait a few more days. I don’t mind waiting longer, but in the future, it would be really helpful to know in advance if there’s a delay. That way, expectations can be managed, and any surprises would be positive ones rather than disappointments. Thanks for your hard work. I’m looking forward to it!

Martin Sýkora

I don't think I have ever been so desperate to print a model that I had to have it as soon as it was released. I am still printing stuff from 2 months ago. Take your time. I have far bigger things to worry about.

Lathan Montgomery

Nothing wrong with delays, I like what yall put out, let it cook

DungeonMaster

I think I speak for the majority of Patrons when I say please don't sweat these delays the value of the Tier is so high and being added to all the time that delays are really not a big deal. I would rather quality work from a team that isn't super crunched and stressed. You all do a great job and I am so happy to support it.

Alex Santelli

Does this mean that we will be up to date except for the giant beetle on Friday?

Guzzoid

Thank you guys for releasing awesome shit I'd rather wait for quality than give money to money grabbers. Keep kicking ass!

Nick

I applaud the communication. Quality > rushed release anytime

Lucas Luo

Will the Super Heavy Tank turrets be able to pivot or will it be like the Heavy Tank? Also will the sponson weapons shoot through the tank as well?

Juan Ignacio Araoz

Delays for Better quality beats rushed but on time any day!

Richard Hudson

Quality > Quantity, this is absolutely fine!

Yeet

A 3 day wait isn't too bad at all, appreciate the transparency!

Arkham Jones

Take all the time you need.

Nicholas Sellers

Don't worry, quality before quantity, we trust you to provide excellent work as you did previously. Thx for the exceptional job you all do ! :)

samuel thilinghast

All good, thanks for keeping us updated.

Ron Purvis

We are all Humans

Sandro Sapienza

I just wanted to say I think the OPR crew do an incredible job. No worries on the delays - thanks so much for your great communication. From where I'm sitting, I'm overwhelmed with awesome models!

OjnoTheRed

Appreciate the clear comms! Can’t wait for Friday 🙌🙌

The Bonehead Podcast

No worries, thanks for all your hard work!

Ota Hak

No worries! Keep up the great work!
