Pausing Patreon billing in December

Bit of an announcement today! Padoru YCH commissions are going really well, and have almost reached an amount of requests where, once I finish them all, they’ll cover not only my PC replacement debt, but also about one month’s worth of Patreon earnings.

I have decided to take this opportunity to pause Patreon billing for December, and take a break!
For real this time.

I was going to take a break back in August, but thanks to a bad bout of depression and covid, I eventually ended up being even more swamped with work. When my PC broke down in October, I tried to use that as an opportunity to take it easy for a week, but new PC got delivered very fast and that came with its own set of issues- Basically, I’ve been working pretty much 6 or 7 days a week and haven’t really taken any time to just rest since December of last year, so I figured I might as well take this chance.

This doesn’t mean I won’t be drawing at all, I’ll probably do some studies that I end up posting on Patreon, and take a little more time to finish November’s rewards. But with billing pausing, there will not be any rewards for December. For Hero patrons who receive their rewards bimonthly, that just means they’ll be shifted by one month.

Pausing Patreon billing will also give me a chance to rethink some of the tiers and rewards. For example, I’ve noticed that the fanart & OC poll suggestions posts aren’t as popular as of late. I'm unsure if Patreon is having issues with notifications, because I can't really imagine that people don't want to have their OC drawn-
That aside, I do want to think up a different system that will be more satisfying for those who are paying a little more. For example, I’m thinking of drawing Patrons’ characters for the OC poll once every 2 months instead of once every 3 months, and make it more of a request box format.
