Early Video Access and Update on a Whirlwind Two Months

Hello dear Patrons,

I'll terribly sorry it's been a while since my last post. The past two months have been crazy-busy.

The Q-Workshop Seth Skorkowsky RPG Icons Dice released, which was pretty great. I'm still amazed that even happened. But no release ever occurred without a last-second hitch and panic. So my proudest part of that affair was throwing together the pre-order video in only 3 days. The video must have worked because Q-Workshop sold out of the initial run in record time and had to make a second run of dice. They also sell individual dice on their website now, so people can get an extra D20 or 12-sided D6 or whatever else they want. Originally they told me that individual sales wouldn't happen unless sales were good enough to warrant it. So I'm happy to report that my dice exceeded their sales expectations by a healthy margin.

After that, my wife and I went up to Michigan for our first vacation in a very long time. We spent a week, ending it with ChaosiumCon. That was a great event, and it was great to see several faces I haven't seen in a long time and get to meet a lot of people I've only ever interacted with online, including my Podcast Partner Jon Hook (pictured is Jon running some of us through the Yellow King RPG).

My wife also came down with Covid shortly after we got back. She made it through all right, and it's a wonder I didn't catch it.

After that, Glass Cannon sent me the video files for the 2-part Call of Cthulhu game we played in early March. They wanted me to host it on YouTube as a way to introduce what they do to my audience and maybe send some people toward their channel. The game itself was a lot of fun, and I hope they got several new subscribers from allowing me to host it. Though, YouTube's bots really hated the music tracks and kept flagging my videos for copyright violations. Glass Cannon has the rights, but because my channel was hosting, I couldn't use their clearance. So each video was an all-day affair of posting, processing, removing, tweaking, and re-posting with the hope the bots wouldn't flag me again.  I might be doing some more games with them again in the near future. We're still hammering details and schedules. But those will only be found on their Twitch and YouTube if/when we do it.

The only other thing going on is we've evidently entered Interview Season. I've been doing a lot of interviews lately.

I did one for RoundTable Roulette with Ruineslinger that you can watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFLbV72GBdU

Last week I did another with the Roleplay Chat podcast. It should release in a week or two, I think: https://anchor.fm/roleplaychat

Next one is a live interview tomorrow evening with Manufactured Myths & Legerdemain https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFLbV72GBdU

Then another Friday with Glass Cannon's "Cannon Fodder" show as a follow-up interview chat now that our shows aired. It'll be live on their Twitch Channel: https://www.twitch.tv/theglasscannon

Next one with with GenCon's "Out of Character" show next week.

Anyway, as schedules have at least settled a bit more, I managed to knock-out my next YouTube video. This one is about running Theme Campaigns, which I've had some amazing successes with. It's also my expanded discussion about a type of problem character we call 13th Warriors. I touched on those in one of my early videos, which became my most-watched video, but it also garnered a LOT of hate. I ended up taking that old vid down 2 years back, with plans on revisiting that topic as part of a dedicated video explaining what exactly a Theme Game was (as the original video never explained it, which led to the much of the confusion). So it only took me two years to work myself up to stepping back into the ring on this topic. Hopefully I presented it better this time around.  The video will go live to the general public on Friday, but you can check it out now.

Anyway, that is it for now. Thank you so much for your continued support, especially when I go radio-silent for so long.

-Seth

No pressure at all (though I had been sitting on it for 2 full years, and needed to get off my butt and do it).

Awesome! Apologies if I put pressure on you; that wasn't my intention! ^^'

Chefda

Yeah, I finally decided to put it together.

Is this the same video that you've mentioned to me before when I asked you about videos absent from your channel?

Chefda

Very happy to hear about the individual dice, just ordered myself some more 12-sided D6.

The dice are great! I watched the Glass Canon AP and thought it was hilarious. I don't watch a lot of AP anymore, but they are damn funny. I subbed their channel. I also caught you on Third Floor Wars. Craig is an amazing interviewer. I hope you go in for a one on one interview.

Farty Mcbutterpants

Congrats on the success of your dice set !! Just ordered mine today, it will be perfect for playing Cthulhu.
