New Pulp/CoC Adventure Review

Hello Patrons!

My latest module review 'The Curse of Black Teeth Keetes' is finally done. The plan was for this to be finished Friday and available them, but clearly that didn't happen. Part of that is due to me spending way more time than necessary finding backplates and figuring out how to make effects for some of the Jack skits. I still need to do the Subtitles for it, but you can give it an early peek now if you're so inclined.

I'll post it live for the general masses tomorrow sometime.

In other news, I got to playtest a modern-era Call of Cthulhu adventure called 'Viral' written by Bud from Bud's RPG Review and Alex Guilliotte. We played ghost hunters who were live-streaming a hunt on an abandoned Italian asylum island. It was fantastic. Wonderful way to show how modern technology can be used to both help and hinder the player characters. They plan a few more playtests to hammer out any bumps as well as get feedback and ideas before releasing it sometime in early 2022. I'll review it then, but it was a fantastic game.

The walls are scandalously lined with them. You feel the hotness of them- without there being any flame.

The ward works at the second location for Plot Reasons, I suppose. Maybe for extra-dimensional creatures the geographical location of the wards don't really matter.

Okay, so there are two islands total, I missed that. Surprised the ward works in a different location, but it explains that. As for the second, thanks for the clarification, that way it's way more managable.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by the first question. The pirates originally discovered the treasure in a Caribbean island. The Ghost Island was simply an existing island off the coast of Massachusetts that the ship and crew were brought to. The island's location can be discovered by looking at old maps of the Massachusetts coast and comparing them to new maps and noticing one island no longer appears. If the island were to be changed to teleport around, then using old maps to find its location would no longer work. For the Elder Sign, the additional Magic Point cost due to shamblers still around at the end of a 5 minute round does not increase the casting time, but only increased Magic Point cost for that 5 minute round. Cost is 1 Magic Point +1 per remaining shambler.

Sounds like a good adventure, indeed. Got two questions that might (if you see fit) be a good fit for clarification in a pinned comment or somesuch: By the fact that the location of a carribean island is off the US east coast, I assume it teleports in addition to going in and out of phase? I don't recall you saying that, but since you mentioned it can be placed anywhere, it seems like the logical conclusion. Having shamblers add magic points required to the Elder Sign sounds like overkill, as the magic points add 5 min each, which means a host of more shamblers porting in, adding more magic points. Sounds like it's inevitably going to snowball. Or am I getting that wrong?

You win this round, Skorkowsky.

Too late now.

It's pronounced bray-ZEE-err. Bra-zeer if how you say the undergarment.
