Title Card Help

OK Patrons, I've been working on the next review. Script done, images collected but not put on slides, Jack backdrops mostly ready. However I seem to have put myself in one of my classic binds of hyper-focusing on some minor detail until it's sucked up way too much time and I can not longer see it objectively.

These are the 2 video Title Cards I'm considering. Title Cards need to be interesting enough looking to encourage people to click on them, but also clear enough to see when they've been shrunk down to that tiny thumbnail size that YouTube likes to use. I've spent the better part of a full day making these and I honestly can't tell which one is better.

Card #1: Classic haunted house look. Text is slightly askew to line up with fence.

Card #2: Silhouette of the house image I'll have behind Jack for the house in the video. Style done like some of the posters for the movies this adventure is trying to emulate (Amityville Horror, and I believe the original The Haunting).

Which one do you prefer and why?

I hope to have the vid recorded and edited this week (providing the massive plumbing job under my house in done. Long story, but we've been slammed with repair crews fixing the sewages lines under my house for the last 2 weeks. Lots of digging and banging. I have a 30+ foot tunnel going under one side and a 15-foot tunnel from the other. Also an 2-foot deep trench encircling my house.)

Whichever one you all decide becomes the Video Title Card.  I may or may not use the second-place winner for my mid-video Spoiler Warning Card.

Thank you for all your support, and getting me through this analysis paralysis.

There is a lot of merit to keeping the 'Brand Look' consistent.

#1 shows up in my feed and I will say "Seth has a vid!". I might miss #2. So 100% with Craig on this

Bryan Stephens

#1 feels more "on brand" to me, both in terms of Seth's channel and Call of Cthulu itself

It's looking that way.

No. 1 it is.

#1 looks amazing, go for that

Gextroll

Sounds like the best "House of Horror" look would be the sewage system around your house! #1 looks classic, but is a bit on the dark side: you can't see much detail #2 looks like an old Atari video game from the 80's, so I'd go with that one

My vote is for #1

#1 looks better to me, it has an actual art style and is more consistent with your stuff, I think. The second one just looks jarring because of the contrast, and looks like Paint art honestly.

#1 for me it is easier to read

I prefer the second one, it looks really unique/striking to me and immediately stands out. But it could be that compared to your other video cards, number 1 is more in line with your style/more immediately recognizable to your fans.

Yeah, I tried moving the "Review" in the second one up tp the top, even changed the colors of it, but nothing really looked right.

Personally I prefer the second one, it's a striking image and looks like a movie poster from the 60s, like an Italian Gialo film like Suspiria with the bold colors and spooky text

Grey Wolverine

#1 for me because it's more immediately readable. The second one makes me pause for a couple seconds as my eyes adjust to the high contrast. Then I need to consciously read the title. And then a few seconds later I realize that it says "Review", too, because that word gets somehow lost in all that contrast.

#1, but lightened. Here's what I thought might work: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AwS59tv5y5eLbH0HQBvNtqtw6iNMSdmI/view?usp=sharing I masked off the lettering (which obviously you won't have to do), and then used the Levels feature of a photo-editor (mine is Affinity Photo), to set anything above 60% to be white, and left black alone. (0% to 60% gets stretched out to 0% to 100%) As for reasons: #1 is classic haunted house as others have said. #2 is ... I mean, what on earth is going on with all that blotchy stuff on the right side? "What are you saying, we've got to stay in the house before we can inherit?" "No, nothing like that. But there *is* this Rorschach test you've got to pass first..."
