Early Access - Bounty Hunter

Hello Patrons!

I've got my next review video finished up. This one if for the diceless RPG Bounty Hunter. It's an interesting system written by Guy from the How to Be a Great GM channel. I think it would be pretty cool as an introductory RPG for people wanting something with a Mandolorian vibe. He recorded a group of us playing it and has that on his channel if you want to see us play (links are in the video description of my review).

I'll be posting this video public on Monday, but you get the weekend with it. After that I'll be radio silent for much of August, so don't worry if you don't see much activity from me online.

In other news, I got my author copy form Mysteries on Arcturus Station in. It's one of the sample copies Mongoose gets from the printer before they confirm the big print job. Matt Sprange was kind enough to mail me one. Everything looks great on them, so they should be available soon for regular customers. After that I'll probably make a video about it, my adventure 'The Hunt for Sabre IV,' and my updated version for J. Andrew Keith's classic 'Murder on Arcturus Station'.  I hope people enjoy it.

I'm also please to say that this will not be my only experience updating and adding my brand of personal flavor to a Classic Traveller scenario for Mongoose. I'm not at liberty to say more until official announcements are made, but I did spend the last couple week reworking a classic adventure for the new edition and a new generation of players. Everything has been turned in to them, so my part is done until they ask for edit requests. Hopefully it won't be terribly long before I get to share more.

My other excitement this past week was an email from a Scott Brown agent. I can't express the terror of realizing Scott Brown knows your name. Evidently they got a huge kick out of that video (sigh of relief) and are sending me a Scott Brown hoodie to go with my shirt. It must be weird for a business to realize your infamous to a circle of gamers for something you never actually did. I'll post more about it once I have my hoodie, which I'm way more excited about than I should admit.

Everyone have a great weekend, stay safe, and thank you for all your support.

~Seth

It was a lot of fun.

I just finished watching the playthrough. That was a lot of fun. Some real laugh out loud moments. I'm even more intrigued.

I was thinking that a blind bid with APs might create some more dynamic situations.

The diceless aspect is neat, and it does create its own tension. But I just prefer those beautiful moments when the dice create the magic. What made the Bonesaw a legend came down to a perfectly-timed 20. Our barbarian's tale of repeatedly failing to break a shield could only have happened with dice that hated him. I'm curious about how he'll do magic in Mage Hunter. If he offers me a chance to play it and see what it's about I'll jump on it.

They didn't. But they didn't kick down my door, either, so I call that a win.

It gives me joy to think that now, when a Scott Brown agent walks into a new property, they are going to have ,"Scott Brown, motherfucker! Get the fuck out!" going through their head.

The disclaimer about Werner Hertzog had me laughing out loud. Nicely done.

This has me interested. I'm always a little leery of diceless systems, but this one seems ok. To be honest, I'm more interested about the Mage Hunter version you mentioned. Fantasy is more my jam than sci-fi. Mind you, the opportunity to play one of those squid guys has me intrigued.

Also, love hearing that Scott Brown contacted you. Did they offer you a job?

Wow, it will be translated into Hungarian! My family is Hungarian (I only speak a little) and I go visit them fairly regularly. Going into game shops there, almost everything is in English. Which is great for friends and family to practice their English with me; looks like I will finally have one to practice Hungarian with them!

All great stuff! Really looking forward to getting my updated Arcturus book.

I do confess a little fear of that when they asked me for my mailing address.

Scott Brown knows your name!?! Well, I guess it won’t be long now before Seth’s house will “mysteriously” appear on the market.
