5/5 Chapter 8 Finished
Added 2025-05-05 17:19:53 +0000 UTCFinished in so far as the writing goes. I'll start editing right away, but I don't want to put out any release dates yet.
Chapter 8 is finished at about 15k.
The chapter definitely feels... I don't know. We definitely cover a lot and if you want a theme for the chapter that theme is "a bunch of fucking lore". I've tried to keep it interesting. I feel like there are more "bare spots" in this chapter---where the narration carries large parts of scenes and you guys don't get a ton of input. Granted, I think I've used more variables in this chapter to determine certain things than I have anywhere else, but I'll see if I can fix it while editing.
This is also where we get our lock in moments with R and Z at least. Keep in mind, the lock ins are more a moment where the MC decides "I'm interested in this person romantically" rather than the actual START of the relationship. We're taking the slow burn route.
The Kestrel's lock in moment might happen next chapter? I haven't really decided. We'll see.
This also chapter means we're all moving into the final stretch. This is only a basic estimation and I'm always pretty off when I try to do that, but I'd say there's probably only another 4 chapters.
