The Man Who Spared Hitler

One piece of evidence that supports this story takes the form of a painting. Italian artist Fortunino Matania produced a painting from a photograph that featured Henry Tandey carrying a wounded soldier. Here’s that painting:

When showing off a copy of this painting, Hitler is alleged to have pointed to Tandey and identified him as the man who spared his life. It’s a compelling story… but I have to wonder how easy it is to recognise a painting of a photo of a man only briefly glimpsed at a distance in the heat of battle…

I'm actually quite familiar with geocaching, as it's something I used to do every now and then - I enjoyed it especially when I was travelling, as it was a good way to discover parts of a new town that you'd never normally see. Can't believe I hadn't thought of doing a video on geocaching incidents before! Will definitely add this to my list - and thanks for the kind offer of the screenshots too!

Fascinating Horror

It's one of those dark twists that history is full of. For some people being spared would maybe have made them more compassionate to their fellow humans...

Fascinating Horror

The idea that ‘someone’ spared Hitlers life is the ultimate irony when you read the history of such an intensely evil man.

Have you ever heard of a hobby called geocaching? If not, it's basically an activity where you use coordinates to find "caches" hidden in outdoor public areas. You can download the geocaching app to locate any nearby caches you can try to find. Here’s a screenshot I took myself of the app, showing a few caches located in Heuvelton, NY: https://tinyurl.com/4m659dft Here’s what pops up when you select one of the caches: https://tinyurl.com/y2rx4jyt And when you select the popup at the bottom, it gives additional details about the cache in question, as seen here: https://tinyurl.com/5n6ykz9a The reason I bring all this up is because there have, of course, been multiple incidents that have happened to people while geocaching. Enough that I think they would make an interesting compilation video: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocaching#Notable_incidents BTW, if you ever do decide to make a geocaching video, you're more than welcome to include the screenshot I provided. :)
