March Patreon Changelog

Massive changes are coming to how my patreon works. Might wanna give a read as changes are coming to every single tier.

I want to start off by thanking everyone who has supported me in any way since I've started drawing. I really never thought when I started, I'd be where I'm at. Ever honestly, let alone after a little more than one year! I know my stuff isn't that great and I got alot of work to do, but I still appreciate those that believe in me and support my desire to become one of the greats. That being said, some of those feelings are exactly why i'm making this post. I want my patreon to be a place more focused around those that actually want to support my growth for that reason alone, with the benefits simply being access to more of my content and encouragement to challenge myself. Right now, especially my higher tiers don't feel that way. It feels alot more like an exchange. That's the purpose of commissions. The exchange. And so, i'm going to change my patreon accordingly, while also offering some brand new systems to toy around with and see what works best.

Global changes

My patreon theme is being changed. I'm going with the super original idea of PMD inspired role names. Along with that, some icons to represent your pledge in chat! (Thanks to my wonderful @Server Boosters)

Patreon content

Starting March 1st, all patreon content will be posted in discord channels aligned with their respective roles. These channels will be under the Patreon Exclusive section by the beginning of the month. Polls, commission openings, and the finals of pieces will still be posted on patreon.

Tier 1

New

I think it's finally time to raise my baseline prices for accessing supporter content. Both for the sake of my higher pledging patrons and for myself. This tier will serve as a tip jar with the benefit of the discord role for the foreseeable future.

Tier 2

New

- Access to upscaled, 4K images

- EARLY Access to public YCH commission slots 30 minutes before everyone else!

This is basically what tier 1 used to be with the added benefit of the early slot access. It's gonna be a recurring thing for the lower tiers that the benefits are being moved up.

Tier 3

New

- Access to any private alternates of public releases

- EARLY Access to YCH commission slots 1 hour before everyone else!

Tier 4

New

- All Benefits from the Previous Tier(s)

- Access to Patreon-only commission slots!

- EARLY Access to commission slots 4 hours before the public!

- Participate in sketch polls! Votes are worth one point

For now, this is really all I can do with this tier. There will be more thing in the future that I can add to a tier like this. But with my comic not yet started and my queue not yet empty yet, I have to leave it like this. I'm not going to advertise a promise in my tiers any more either. I'd rather people pledge on what they see and not what they think they may get one day.

Tier 5

New

- Votes are worth double in sketch polls

- Access to Patreon only animations

    * 5 slot cap removed

This currency system was a nice way to get everything caught up with the way the first tier 5 worked. For a time, it was a breath of fresh air and I could still complete commissions in an efficient manner without going insane from commission overload. However, that's sort of changed. Just the fact that the points exist puts a stress on me that makes me worry for the future workload. On top of that, back to the transaction point I made at the top of this post. I just don't enjoy that currency system being implemented as something for Patreon. It feels like a transaction to a point. And I'd rather give benefits that allow me to focus my attention improvement and learning as opposed to trying to learn doing through doing a commission.

March will be the final month that point are given out, after that points will no longer concur and the system will be removed. **That being said**, any points you currently own, you will be able to redeem and use until <t:1685592000:F>. After that time, all points will be permanently deleted and will not be redeemable. Feel free to DM me at any point to discuss spending your points. I will give everyone that has some left at least one slot towards using them.

On the other side of things, I'll be learning animation soon! I intend to make that a premium thing and only releasing a select few to the public. This tier & up will be the only ones that allow viewing them

Tier 6

Brand New Tier!

- EARLY Access to commission slots 24 hours before the public!

- Votes are worth quadruple in sketch polls

- Participate in suggestion posts exclusive to people in this tier.

  * Slot capped at 5 members

I still have more benefits planned for this tier in the future. But as listed before, I don't want to put future promises in tiers anymore. This will be what this tier offers for now. Due to these planned changes, this slot will have a cap.

For now, I think this is where I want my patreon to head. If you don't like these changes, feel free to unpledge. If my art is to improve, I need to take that time and spend it toward improvement instead of just constant comms. Hopefully my art can benefit from that change.
