Burnside Indy V8

on a whim I thought I'd make a classic indycar (this is not for a video), but with great big trumpets coming out of the hood. I quickly realised indy cars were all i4 engines, so instead I just made it an open wheeler

want lore? Well there was a coach building company that was going out of business as independent coach building was becoming less popular. They started grabbing at straws, and without doing any research, they bought the brand new Burnside Special as a rolling chassis, then built a custom race body on it. It was not only meant to race is open classes, but it was also meant to be a halo car for them.

Unfortunately they weren't engine builders, so they only did what they could see, a custom exhaust, and an ITB intake. The development was just too much, they raced once on an oval circuit wit ha 3 speed manual, then folded. The concept race car was bought, then raced a few more times by an independent, fitted with a 4 speed for circuit racing.

Ultimately it was too heavy, too much lift in the rear at high speed, and the engine was too big for indy, but not powerful enough to take on other categories.

Now there's some caveats to this mod. I wanted to keep it very light weight, so the collision model is very simplistic. You can fit other engines to this car too, but honestly I wouldn't suggest it because of the props, like supercharger intakes and engine fans.

This mod is only ever going to be available here for paid members (I’m not struggling with making mods, but I go into a panic attack every time i try to record). So this mod is not meant for redistribution, but I won’t be telling people off for putting it on servers, I just hope that they won’t then take it… I’ll leave it to your discretion.
