Hello friends!
Last week, I took a short, spontaneous trip to Dublin—planned just a few weeks in advance. I packed my bags and, on Saturday, left behind a dreary Berlin airport. Just two hours later, I arrived in Dublin, welcomed by the most beautiful sunshine.
It had been 13 years since I spent my exchange year there during university. I’ve been back many times since, though never as often as I’d like. Every return feels like a wave of nostalgia—seeing my friends, staying in their house like all those years ago, and settling into what truly feels like a second home. They now have two adorable cats, which is a lovely bonus.
When I visit, I’m not looking for sightseeing or packed itineraries. I’m just there to hang out—talk, watch movies, share meals. And that’s exactly what we did.
We also visited Marlay Park, which I learned is not only a popular concert venue but also a stunning old park with tiny waterfalls, moss-covered rocks, bridges, massive rhododendrons, and ancient trees. I couldn’t resist climbing one!
One of the many waterfalls and bridges in the park.
Dappled light and lush greenery is all I need.
I might paint this rock at some point. It's so pretty.
People were hanging up pacifiers (or "soothers", as I was instructed). A bit creepy...
We also took a stroll through town on Monday.
A bit random, but I liked this flower vendor.
