New Painting & Convention Wrap-Up

Hello, friends!

It’s been an incredibly busy week for me, as I was exhibiting at my biggest convention of the year—The Leipzig Book Fair/Manga Comic Con. Fortunately, it takes place in my hometown, which makes things a little easier. Now, after four intense days, I’m both happy and exhausted. Every muscle and bone in my body aches, but it was absolutely worth it! I’m beyond grateful to everyone who stopped by—whether to buy a print or a book, or simply to say hello (though I seem to have less and less time for chats as the conventions get busier!). Every person I met was so kind and supportive, and I can’t express how much it means to connect with people who truly appreciate handmade art. I even got a little teary-eyed a couple of times!

Each convention leaves me more inspired—driven to create more art, improve my booth, and give back in gratitude for all the support I’ve received.

next up: Dokomi in Düsseldorf, 6-8 June, Hall 3 B36.

As I mentioned earlier, I've finished the sketch I showed you before! I painted it the week before the convention while battling a nasty cold, so I can’t help but wonder whether I might have done better at full health. But I suppose we’ll never know! It is what it is now, and I’m not unhappy with how it turned out. I’ll be using it as a Patreon header soon, but before making it public, I wanted to give you an exclusive first look. I really enjoyed working with the colour palette—orange, salmon pink, and minty green. I also definitely need to pick up a new pot of white paint soon!

Anyway, here’s the painting, messy edges and all, along with a close-up:

Do most people speak English at the convention. I've exhibited in England many times would love to exhibit abroad. I wondered if you had foreigners exhibiting or if it was all German artists ?

Ohh, thank you so much!!

As always, I just want to live in your paintings. I think it’s a combination of the compositions and your use of light. Glad you had a good convention!
