Ranger Stations are one of the elements of the park that I haven't explored very much, even though they would have been critical elements of both park management and visitor experiences. Any ranger station, but especially those located within Mystery Flesh Pit National Park, must fulfill a wide variety of roles.
For the Mystery Flesh Pit, the ranger stations are designed to be standardized and modular in construction. Once the pieces of a station are hauled to a site and constructed by a work team, large hydraulic actuator "legs" allow the station to sit secure and level on otherwise slippery or unstable venterial terrain.
As should be apparent from the circular plan, this typical station design takes many cues from the architectural style already established by the Lower Visitor Center. In many ways, these stations may even be thought of as "mini" LVCs, each containing their own smaller versions of the systems found within the larger visitor center.
Working sketches like these aren't pretty, but they are the honest starting points of all MFP content; I always start with a sketch on paper to work through ideas and potential issues before refining a concept using digital tools.
