Japanese update and other news!
Added 2025-09-11 13:11:31 +0000 UTCHello dear supporters!
I’ve been busy, busy, busy writing the two new courses to be recorded (Japanese and English for Spanish speakers) and I have to say, I’m very excited about all the new material. Every time I come back to writing, the previous courses have risen the bar and I find myself in direct competition with myself, pouring hours into the proverbial pottery wheel, reshaping the course run-through by run-through until I feel that I've surpassed myself, and then again and then some! I may have finally learnt to work without undue pressure and stress, letting things take the time they need, not setting deadlines or even forecasts, and so I’m enjoying it a lot!
I’m looking forward to sharing this new Japanese writing in a test workshop at the end of the month. I'm seeking a serious host in Brighton or London for this free workshop so get in touch ASAP with any interest to host (providing your organisation can bring in a crowd of 20+). Hosted or self-organised, the tester workshop should be uploaded around the end of this month, so get ready! :)
In other news, I've published an open offer to UK universities to invite Language Transfer to operate on campus for a semester or more ( https://languagetransfer.substack.com/p/language-transfer-at-a-uk-campus?r=ufgt0 ), with no cost to the university (other than providing accommodation). This is an extension of the idea of a 'mobile LT centre', and would allow me to work in an environment with motivated learners where LT might also have some institutional impact. It also means I can spend more time in the UK without the exorbitant rent eating away at most of the budget. For the universities, this is an absolute no-brainer of a collaboration considering the added value LT would bring to any campus environment, and so if you’re at a UK uni and would like me there, get onto your language/education/general humanities department about this collaboration, and share the link above!
And finally, if you are due a perk please remember to shoot me a message to claim! For InterLinear books let me know your preferred language, and for sharer/goody packs shoot me your full name and address (and phone number if you're from the US, which is a new requirement for international post). And remember, replying to Patreon notification emails doesn't reach me! You must email me (contact here: www.languagetransfer.org/contact ) or log in to Patreon to shoot me a message!
All the best and thanks again for all your glorious support!
