April Update!
Added 2025-04-07 15:43:23 +0000 UTCHey y’all! I have some cool things to tell you! :)
-I have my first 15 tracks of Intro to Japanese all but finalised and ready for recording! As with each new language, different elements of the method get to shine in Intro to Japanese, and I love how the language is forcing new focuses! I think I’m solving some age-old problems for learners of Japanese, and I’m having fun reframing the traditional way Japanese has been understood. That said, I still need more native speaker volunteers - I currently have two, and I need more contrasting opinions/guinea pigs! The Intro to Japanese course will be sped up considerably by being able to count on just a few more native speaker volunteers! So if you have anywhere to spread the word, please do!
-I finally made my first open public workshop since being back in the UK, which was for the all new “Spanish in 90 Minutes” , and it was a blast! Here’s a video of highlights (basically, whenever they laughed at my jokes! https://youtu.be/rBQV0_QZB0A). It's a great video to share if you are trying to generate interest in LT workshops somewhere, and a fun watch too! Those of you in the UK, please reach out to your local cultural centre, library, university etc. to suggest inviting me to give a free open public workshop for the community!
-My second public workshop will be on April 30th, and this will be my first ever British Sign Language event! I’m so excited about this ...and for those who find my excitement for sign languages unexpected (it happens often!) - you may be unaware that these are not ‘invented’ languages, but naturally occurring languages in Deaf communities, with their own grammars, and even accents! It’s a fascinating world I’m very excited to begin sharing. Once I practice this workshop a few times and get enough Deaf feedback on it, I'll formalise the course as LT's first video course!
-And finally, I’ve made tons of new merchandise - many new sticker designs and quite a few new goodies too - drawstring bags are back in, as well as pins, keyrings and more! Sharer packs are amazing for touching random peoples’ lives with Language Transfer & The Thinking Method, and them then passing that on to more people, in a perpetual social chain of potentially life-changing learning experiences! A few cards left in a cafe, a strategically placed sticker, there’s no telling what it could do… so please do claim your perk packs (shoot me a message with your full name and address - and if you already have LT goodies, do let me know what you have so I don’t give you repeats!).
Thanks to you all, supporters old and new,
With love, Mihalis
