Reshuffle!

Hello supporters of Language Transfer and The Thinking Method! Happy new year and thanks for being here! I have some news for you about what I'll be doing this year!

Last year I dedicated a lot of time and energy to trying to build the team I had been dreaming about for so long, but it has been to little avail! Every time I'm convinced it's going great and this is the time someone will follow through, 'smack!' - the email that says 'this is too much for me', or 'I don't have time for this in the end', or just silence. And that's that. But I do have a solution, or some solutions.

For so long I've heard "I wish I could have learned *insert subject* like this!". It's high time to shift my focus away from trying to build a team and back onto creating new material in order to go full steam ahead with the next step I have come to envisage for this project - moving beyond languages.  'Introduction to Music (Theory)', the first non-language Thinking Method course, makes this branching out official and increases exponentially the potential for collaborations with new course writers in new subject areas. One day, you could learn anything from gastronomy to statistics with the Thinking Method!

There is one more big piece of news which may garner mixed feelings! The voting campaign for new language courses assumes a selection of eager candidates to choose from and as I've mentioned, that unfortunately isn't the case. The voting campaign then, I've come to understand, is likely acting like a negative filter. Potential new course writers may be deterred by seeing their language low on or absent from the list. So from here on it needs to be clearly the case that Language Transfer is looking for talent for ANY language, and so the voting campaign is ending. The votes are not lost though; in the event that I am suddenly inundated with new writers, I will look to the votes to chose who to collaborate with. This, along with making my sessions with new potential course writers open for public interaction, should hopefully turn the tables on this stalemate for new language material!🤞
