2024-12-23 23:51:33 +0000 UTCI'm into cats. I adopted a litter of five kittens off the street/my garden 2 years ago. I gave them a room in the house; it used to be a storeroom, with a couple old wooden cupboards and things on top of them, which of course the cats dropped (reason why I gave them a room instead of the whole house). One of the upboards also became their clawing place. I let them out when I'm there to open the door when they come back, and to ensure they do, it happens before their meal time. They have a run in the garden, go up under the roof, get on the garage roof, and generally come back before wanting to go on the street. At least in your area, if your cat goes out eventually, the narrow streets should slow down cars enough for cats to run away before people do hit-and-runs with them. But the catio idea is a good one, if you think you can go ahead and give the cat an area outdoor after the approval process is complete. Actually I think I could build one as well, right behind their room!
