Text-to-image AI
Added 2023-01-29 19:29:51 +0000 UTCI use Midjourney. Not for every little thing on this Patreon, but where it makes sense to do so, I do. I understand that this may not be to everyone's tastes — and well, you're free to obviously not use my stuff. While it is still legal to do so, I will continue paying them to use their AI.
That said, I would prefer to use the tool as ethically as I can and I so I pledge the following:
1. I will tag any post that has used AI with "ai-augmented" or "ai-made".
a. AI-augmented works are where the bulk of the work is very much still done by me and the ai just added texture, a fallen statue or a small piece of art within a greater body of work.
b. AI-made is where the bulk of the work is done by the ai. Like a character portrait or an image of a monster or a landscape. I may have done a few light edits or tweaks to clean something up, but the ai did the heavy lifting.
This way, you can navigate around that content and choose not to use it.
2. If it's relatively easy to provide an option of non ai-augmented content (eg: a map without extra detailing), I'll add them to the zip and mention their inclusion in the post.
3. I swear to never use any artist's names in my text prompts for anything I make for Tor's Emporium. I don't know if this actually "helps" the cause as I am sure the default illustrative style still comes from artists' work that was scraped without their permission, but it's a thing within my power to not do.
