New Artwork "Shepherd"

Shepherds are a common sight in Argenta. Almost all islands and cultures like fabrics a lot. A shepherd like this one might not be able to afford pricy garments and embellishments, but there is a huge textile industry settled all over different islands of Argenta. Since we aren't talking about a Fordism here, there are just a lot of shepherds and their flocks of Sheep on almost all islands.
Writing this, it comes to my mind that it would be interesting to draw how they color all their fabrics. It's not just clothing as well, you won't find a house in Argenta without rugs on the floor or on its walls, sometimes artfully depicting the family history or big events.
So next to farmers and fishers who provide all of Argenta with food to live, a lot of Argentian culture starts with the shepherds of Argenta.
In this drawing, we see a young shepherd next to his hometown. He knows the island like almost nobody else, and loves it for it's pine trees and rocky cliffs.
I guess I finally found a bit of balance as to how many lines I should draw in the linework - I feel comfortable this way (for now^^)

Thank you Ivo! Really went for it in terms of layering, it's a goal of mine to keep it either really simple or have "deeper" compositions with more overlapping structures :)

2024-08-15 06:06:24 +0000 UTCThank you! Well, ships are HUGELY important in trade. Birds can really only carry letters or small parcels, so ships carry almost all trade goods. Luckily, there is not too much routes with high sea that is dangerous, most trade routes go along the coasts of the islands. There is almost no islanf in Argenta where you can't see some other island on the horizon 👌
