In a matter of days, the palace was full with so called rebels, and then Zyrah started with the execution, and she didn’t suffice with them - she wanted their families as well.
Almost daily, a family was placed in the capital's center to be crushed by Zyrah for all to see. She made it slow on purpose, laughing cruelly, terrorizing every single soul in the city.
Sometimes, Zyrah made Shani execute the children.
“Mom”, Shani started talking with a worried tone, “we will kill more than half of the people like that”.
“Sometimes sacrifice is necessary”, Zyrah replied.
Shani nodded, they started walking out.
“Heh, what’s going on here?” A familiar voice from the bottom of the stairs, it was Yen, with her cocky smile, holding her broken arm, leaping forward.
“Yen!” Shani ran down and hugged her, Yen chuckled, clearly pained by Shani’s hug, then caressed Shani’s head.
“You should have seen the fight”, Yen told Shani.
“As expected of my daughter”, Zyrah said in an arrogant voice as she walked down the stairs, leaving squished remains behind her, “I heard you defeated Sheeran”, she said with a smirk.
Yen smiled back, “easy”, she giggled in cruelty.
“Easy? Your arm says otherwise”, Zyrah mocked her.
“It’s nothing a little rest won’t fix”, Yen chuckled, “what’s going on here? Where is everyone? I’m hungry”.
“A lot have happened since you were gone”, Zyrah said, Shani supported Yen up the stairs into the palace.
“The bugs are making a mutiny, they had a leader, Ruby, they are hiding in the tunnels we can’t get there”, Zyrah explained while walking to the palace.
“What the fuck is a mutiny”, Yen asked as she leaped up.
Zyrah sighed, “they think they are better off without us, they will learn otherwise soon”, she explained.
“What a jo-“
*BOOM*
A huge explosion, near the palace.
Zyrah started running, leaving her daughters behind her, the palace was burning.
“N-No! NO!” Zyrah stood helplessly in front of it, “HOW?!”
She watched, and for the first time in her life, kneeled in front of the fire, she grabbed the soil with her hands and screamed as hard as she could, making tinies all over the place hiding deeper inside their homes, scared for their lives.
“I WILL KILL HER!!!” She screamed.
“M-Mom, oh goddess in the sky”, Shani said in tears from behind, watching her home burning.
“How did they do it, argh”, Yen pushed Shani, and leaped forward, “mom, who did this, I don’t care where they are, I’ll kill them all”, she said in such anger it felt like she’s almost losing herself to madness.
This palace was there for generations, ever since the great-great grandmother of Zyrah, it’s sacred and holy even for the goddess queens, one of the biggest palaces ever existed, made by giants and tinies for centuries, and now it’s burning, like it’s some barn.
Zyrah couldn’t hold back anymore, she broke in tears, “th-they burned their people too”, she said, “they burned the captives inside the palace, m-monsters, our home…”
Yen held her broken arm and leaped to her mother, “get up”, she said in a cold tone, “they can’t see you like this, get up, now”.
Zyrah wiped off her face and stood up, she took a deep breath, “kill them all”.
“What?” Shani asked.
“Kill everyone in this cursed place on our way out, we are leaving”, she said, determined, “Yen, destroy the entrance to the tunnels, let them suffocate and rot inside”.
“Where will we go?” Shani asked, sobbing.
Yen spat on the ground, “your sister”, she said and looked at Zyrah.
Zyrah nodded, ashamed of that decision for sure.
“We will conquer it back”, Zyrah said and sighed, “it’s just the capitol, and the fire won’t destroy the palace entirely, we just need a place to stay for a while, and for you to heal your broken arm, we can’t stay here exposed”.
“But will she let us in?” Yen asked.
“Who are you talking about? Mom, since when do you have a sister?” Shani asked, confused.
“She will let us in, she has to”, Zyrah replied to Yen and ignored Shani.
“ZYRAHHHHH!!!” A scream from one of the rooftops, a tiny blonde woman, ringing a divine bell over and over again.
The goddess queens went silent and watched her.
Ruby, the leader of the rebels, looked at them with a sick victorious smile.
