Uboa - Apollyon
Added 2024-05-16 10:40:56 +0000 UTCA noise diary jam done yesterday before a show at my partners house. This liminal sunset was outside the window when recording it. A slow thing, tired, etheral and kinda terrifying thing that takes its time. improvised without any editing minus basic mastering.
Apollyon is the greek name for Abaddon, the place of destruction and an 'angel of the abyss'. If you are a fan of SCP (of which I am), you'll also know it means the end of the world there too.
Long-term burnout feels apocalyptic. After all, is there a world if you are too tired and too busy to see it? If you read apollyon as a location - an abyss - then it describes burnout perfectly.
