I took them down as I made both while closeted and are very much a product of that time. Unlike Coma Wall, which I still occasionally think has its own merits, I see these works as derivative (specifically of Khanate) and not at all representative of what Uboa as a project is now and who I am now. Musically and lyrically they are still very much juvenilia and transport me back to a time in my life I wish never happened and make me profoundly uncomfortable. It's deadname, not Xandra.
Some people when the come out see some form of continuity between their egg-selves and who they become. I frankly only see my egg-self as a miserable compromise of a person who was too afraid to be who she is. Every time I hear these songs thats what they remind me of that self-compromise. So I don't like them.
Since you are patreons, you may have them if you wish. There will never be physical versions of these releases nor any use of them online from now on. Please refrain from uploading to locations like the Internet Archive, although sharing among friends and closed servers is fine and not something I can prevent.
The closet is hell. If you are in one, leave it immediately.

2023-06-04 14:03:55 +0000 UTCthank you for sharing this! sometimes light is still one of my favorite doom metal projects imo - even though I bought them on Bandcamp earlier I'm glad you're able to step away from these projects overall!!! you shouldn't feel obligated to hold to that part of your catalogue if you're made uncomfortable by it
