"Progress". More pressure to grow and modernize in Tokyo than other parts of Japan. We don't feel nostalgic about Tokyo at all.. it really is like a different country to to the rest of Japan in so many ways. Others love it, however.

2020-08-23 22:27:53 +0000 UTCI guess it's a matter of knowing where it's coming from and going with the flow. I have been told off several times in Japan for not arranging my shoes in the genkan neatly enough. It's one of those universal rules of etiquette whenever entering a house in Japan.
