Didn't Amuse, Inc copyright that? :-)

I have heard that sometimes the bibs and hats are to keep them warm and other times it is because the statue represents a child and in the old days the parents of the dead child would put their bib on to keep them happy in the after life.

I have a question - I could probably Google it, but why not ask you?? I often see videos where spirit statues have bibs tied to them. What are they for? Is it food/feeding, or some other spiritual meaning that's bypassed me because I'm a savage?
