The best way, Jack. When I started in Japan, I wore white belt .. until the shihan strongly insisted that I start wearing my black belt that he assumed I had hidden away somewhere :-D

2019-06-16 12:40:41 +0000 UTCI was fortunate enough to be the class instructor in the absence of the head guy but I think if ever I were to attend a class in Japan, I'd gladly go in with an attitude of literally starting from fresh.

2019-06-16 12:36:57 +0000 UTCActually we talked a lot about the relationship with Aikido now I remember in that we were taught to be circular in motion in regard to techniques where we needed to do a thing with our katana undrawn. We would often talk about Aikido and Jiu Jitsu but hardly ever Karate as it goes, but we had a relationship with the other two. I really miss my classes!
