Last Time:

The shadow of the robot's fist passed over the wolf, who shook his body with all the strength and speed he had, vibrating himself like mad, trying to escape. He felt the hardened foam breaking around him, cracking and crumbling as he banged himself into it at super speed, but he couldn't break the concrete like substance fast enough. It was still holding him in place as the fist descended, and behind Karl's mask, the wolf’s eyes widened. He was going to d-

The shove caught Blitzkrieg entirely by surprise. One moment, he had been totally encased in the rigid foam, and the next he was free, being pushed hard and falling to the ground. Thin arms clutched at his chest, and Blitzkrieg looked up to see the massive fist still coming down onto him and the float, smashing everything to pieces around him.

It all passed right through Blitzkrieg.

As insubstantial as a ghost, the huge metal thing darkened the world around Blitzkrieg without touching him, or the slender red fox in the black domino mask that was lying on top of him. Karl gaped, staring at the shadowy sight of a huge metal that was passing through him, and the slender man grasping him around the waist.

"Phantom!" Blitzkrieg said with a gasp. "What are you- How did you move me-"

"No time! Rescue the parade goers!" The fox snapped, and surprised the wolf even more by kissing him! Blitzkrieg tensed, shocked beyond words by the sudden rescue, and the even more sudden kiss. The fox got his tongue into the wolf's open mouth, kissing Karl with real passion, paws groping him, and then Phantom sprang away when the machine's fist raised up, bringing back the daylight world. Blitzkrieg felt the ground under him shift as he became solid once more, and he found himself sitting in the center of a hole in the ground, the flatten ruins of the floats surrounding him. "I'll stop the Doctor!" Phantom called out as he vanished, the cackling peals of laughter echoing from the robot’s speakers. Blitzkrieg's mind raced, and his body followed, vanishing from the crater.

The German wolf exploded into movement, and as Dr. Smeltlinger raised his robot's arms and revealed in his triumph, the wolf went to work. The street around the parade route was crowded, a mob of frightened people, but that crowd melted away quickly thanks to the superfast wolf. Blitzkrieg's power let him remove barriers, snatch up people who had fallen, and race the crowd closest to danger away in a flash. The whole mob ran, but with Blitzkrieg guiding them, they ran orderly and without injury, their ranks thinned of the old and infirm by the flashing wolf.

Smeltlinger bellowed in delighted laughter, exalting in his apparent victory. "I've done it! I've finally made the Extraordinaries pay for what they've done to me!" The little horse's laugh was tinged with a horsey neighing as he capered, the robot actually mimicking his movements in the cockpit, but then he trailed off as the screams of the crowd dimmed and the street emptied out. He looked at the fist of his horse robot, saw no blood, and then looked down at the crater in the ground. "Where did you go you traitorous little speed demon..." the horse grumbled, his voice enhanced by megaphones, which also picked up his terrified shout, "Aaaah!"

Blitzkrieg heard Dr. Smeltlinger's cry of alarm and grinned when he turned to see the robot go wild, huge arms flailing for a moment, and then suddenly the whole huge thing went slack. He could see the Phantom Fox dragging the struggling miniature horse out of the robot's control room, right through the supposedly solid torso of the machine. Phantom flung the horse to the ground and jumped down after him with the grace of someone who knew he couldn’t be hurt by the solid world, while the horse tumbled to the ground in a heap. Smeltlinger scrambled to his feet, pulling a laser gun just as Phantom reached him. The vulpine punched the Doctor hard. Well, hard for someone so slender, Blitzkrieg thought, completely ignoring the blaster and body armor the horse wore.

The red and yellow clad wolf laughed as Smeltlinger screeched a mad whiney and fought back against the fox, trying to smash the laser gun into the other villain’s smiling face. It passed through Phantom, and the fox smacked Smeltlinger again with the one two punch of the amateur boxer. The crowd safe, Blitzkrieg rushed the mad scientist. Phantom saw him coming and stood still, providing a juicy target so the good doctor would be distracted.

Smeltlinger took the bait, and the horse fired the laser gun at full power into the red fox's smug face, and ended up blasting his own robot's leg off. Smeltlinger whinnied in fury as the robot crashed to the ground.

Phantom laughed right in his face. Smeltlinger was vowing to kill the interfering mongrel of a fox right up to the moment that Blitzkrieg smashed into the Doctor with a full body slam at super speed.

Blitzkrieg body checked the miniature horse hard, smashing him into the crippled robot, and dumped some of his electrical power into the horse to stun him just for good measure. Smeltlinger's cries of impotent rage became a soft whiney of pain and then he blacked out, going limp in Blitzkrieg's arms. The horse was a bit singed, but alive. Phantom Fox was nowhere to be seen, of course.

Karl glanced about again to make sure he hadn’t missed the fox before saying, "Phantom? Where are-" Blitzkrieg tensed, nearly jumped out of his costume.

The sensation of a hand caressing Karl’s ass under his tail was unmistakable. The voice that came out of the air was Phantom Fox's, "I'll stay out of the limelight this time, handsome." The grip on Karl’s butt was firm, the fox’s fingers sliding between his cheeks to brush at his back door, the touch passing right through the fabric of his costume to slide across his bare fur. "You're the hero of the day after all," Phantom whispered in his ear, and Karl tensed up all over as he felt soft lips brush his left ear before the unwelcome caress vanished.

The wolf stood there, frozen in complete shocked at such a sexual touch in public, and a chill ran down his spine as he realized no one could possibly have see what just happened to him. The street was still, almost quiet in the wake of Smeltlinger's assault on the parade, and Phantom’s words had touch had been only for him. The fox could be standing right in front of him still, and no one would be able to tell.

The crowd which remained seemed to realize there wasn't any more danger, and they made a ragged cheer as Blitzkrieg stood over the fallen horse. Before long the people of Berlin were shouting in celebration again as the wolf raced to help anyone who had been hurt in the debacle of a celebration.
