The end of the Melbourne International Comedy festival has come, and I’m back in the world. It’s been a strange distant festival for me; not doing any of the night-socialising at all. I thought I might carve out a few nights, but somehow I didn’t make myself.
I think it was probably one of those things like exercise - if I’d done it, I’d have realised it was worthwhile doing? But as it was, it felt like too much effort. Getting TWIST up to scratch (while keeping up with the Gargle and other regular things, plus ye olde parentinge) was enough. Felt like enough.
Maybe part of me was also hiding from having to deal with the love I have for the comedy community; those loose friendly conversations you have in passing with smart silly people. Because I’m planning on taking a step back from the festival-show-creation cycle, and I want to not miss it?
Anyway. I’ve been loving the salons and writers meetings a lot, and thinking of more Patreon things I can do. My timezone will change mid March, when I head to london (via Tokyo!)
My gigs page on my website is updated HERE thanks to the brilliant Sam. It includes upcoming Sydney, Tokyo, U.K. and Edinburgh shows.
The Gargle this week is good, and I’m about to upgrade my sound equipment to make it easier to get good sound quality in the various cupboards and showers full of blankets and Schroedinger’s cat boxes that I have to figure out how to podcast in while on tour.
Tea With Alice this week will come out on Thursday, but the last few episodes are really really lovely.
I’m figuring out a way to organise a shared calendar for Patreonite events, so we can all know what the next month of Alice Fraser Tea stuff looks like at the same time (aiming to get it plotted out to hold steady at about two months in advance).
