Tea With Alice: Amy Carver, plus salons and consultations.

Episode 1, Season 2 of Tea With Alice is now out, with guest, screenwriter, director and new TWA producer, Amy Brown Carver.

We talked about divorce parties, sticking by your principles or letting your principles change with you, and how to figure out what makes you happy.

Non-iTunes link to follow when I figure out what’s a good one to use.

I’m so glad to be back making Tea With Alice, and after a 298 episode season 1, I think season two will be lots of fun. Do share it with friends or frenemies you need to impress with your good taste.

Other Stuff This Week.

The Gargle this week is going to be super hilarious and I’m on the Bugle this week (recording at 11pm tonight). I had better catch up on the news and get writing!

Adelaide Fringe Festival tickets for Twist are now on sale: here

Book a One-on-One Meeting With Me via Calendly

Not to repeat myself, but a few people have asked:

Long time Patreonites will know that until last year I offered monthly one-on-one chats to subscribers above a certain level. Anyone could book a zoom call with me to talk about whatever they wanted. It was really lovely to have so many fascinating conversations, and when people wanted something more structured than just a chat it was also super cool to be able to offer advice or technical notes on specific life problems or art problems.

Unfortunately, with the limits of time-space, it got to be too much to keep up with, unless I wanted to make it a full time job and so I pulled it, though by now I’ve made proper friends with some of the people who used to chat with me monthly, so I still keep in touch.

Then, a few weeks ago, in a salon, one of YOU mentioned that I should do one-on-ones as paid one-offs.

So I looked into it and thought: why not?

Is now properly live and out of Beta Testing. I’ve done a handful so far and they’ve been so fun and cool and interesting.

At the moment I’m still only plugging it here, so it’s just for you, but if it keeps going well, in a month or so I’ll open it more widely (at a higher price for non-Patreonites, so you’ll still get the special version), though you can gift it to a friend or enemy if that’s a thing you would like to do.

Will You Still Be Running Salons?

Yes. moreover, this week’s Salon will still be open to all levels:

Friday morning 8am Sydney Time:

Will send through the link a little before. We’re now in a spot where I can grab U.K. and US timezones into the same meeting time! Whew!

Here Are Some of the Things We Might Discuss in A Tea Consultation.

Some of things people have discussed with me during calls:

- thinking about moving abroad

- Going freelance

- embarking on a creative career and looking for advice on how to make that happen and what to consider when making that decision.

- contemplating whether they should have kids or not and wanting to brainstorm pros and cons.

- Asking for notes on a specific piece of art.

- wanting to bat a complex idea around for their own interest TWA style or because they’re planning on writing about it.

- wanting to discuss how current events or politics are affecting their life

- people who have been following along for so long they just want to catch up for a little chat and don’t need any particular advice or even have a particular topic they want to discuss.

Worried the time will be awkward?

Never say never, but it hasn’t really happened so far. I enjoy talking to people and am interested in you if you’re interested enough in what I do to want to talk.

Can I gift a meeting to someone? / None of the times available work for me, can we do another time? / I’m disappointed in our chat! Can you figure out time travel so I can get that hour of my life back?

Sure, hit me up in the Patreon messages and we can sort something out.

What can’t I do? What shouldn’t you do?

I am not qualified to give health advice or mental health advice or legal advice in your jurisdiction. I’m more than happy to listen if you have a problem and can share my perspective from my own life experiences, but i’m not a doctor of any kind and I don’t work as a lawyer any more. Seek professional help if you need it.

Don’t have money but want to chat anyway?

Message me and I’ll see what we can figure out.

That’s all for now

Xx

I found it on the podcast app I use, Pocket Casts. I think it's available on both Android and iPhone. Hope that helps! :) —George

I tried to download from my Google Podcast app, but there's only a 4-minute file available :-( Is it available for us poor mortals not beholden to the Apple Overlords?

It's like a Cameo where you can actually have a discussion, instead of some celebrity saying "happy birthday" or Santa impersonator telling your kid that he heard about the hamster incident.
