The Sunset of The Time and Salon 77 Details for Tomorrow

The clocks have changed in Australia, taking us towards The Difficult Time for inter-timezone work/communication.

Things here have been exciting and epic in the most mundane of ways this week including a Fire (not in, but uncomfortably close to my flat), a (non-covid) cold and Friends In Trouble.

On Friday I’ll fly back to London to be in London for a wedding, which will be lovely. MUST resist buying an adorable and impractical outfit for Laser. It’s funny - I’m not wildly into buying cute outfits for myself; I tend to pick a uniform and then wear it to death.

The closest I come to thinking about clothes is thinking about what a stage outfit is ‘saying’. But then that’s another sort of uniform - I will wear the same thing on stage for the whole of the run of a show. Every night. It is compulsory that wherever I’m staying during a festival has both a washer and a dryer. I wear things until they have holes in, and then I darn the holes like a mediaeval wyf.

All of which is to say, I totally lose my hard pragmatic head about cute clothes for Laser, and am hard put to resist an adorable hat (which she will refuse to wear), or rad little sunglasses (which she will refuse to wear) or sweet overalls (which she will wear, but has recently discovered how to take off independently of me). I have a perfectly nice little outfit for her that she’s only worn once to another fancy event, she’s not a celebrity fashionista, she can wear the thing twice.

Salon Details for tomorrow:

Timing gets trickier to make work for everyone as australia takes a leap and then England will do the same in the opposite direction. I have no idea what america does, but I assume it’s bad for salons. Times will jump around a bit more to try to make up for the fact that I can’t conveniently catch all three timezones any more in the next few weeks and months. Also, I’ll be back in Aus in two weeks, so that will also affect timings.
