timbre wolf

First noodle with the infamous Akai Timbre Wolf. Live, so few bum notes.

I don't know why these companies feel the need to market analogue synths as "aggressive" all the time, especially when they're not, but that's what led to the vast internet bullying I think: a complete ignorance to what was actually being sold on the advertisers' part. Stupid buzzwords like "Howl" etc. It's a polyphonic synth in the classical music theory sense, i.e. independent running melodies, with different sound settings. And separate outputs (so each note can get its own FX etc.) which is especially interesting! So it's unique, albeit quite limited sonically.

I might keep an eye out for a Rhythm Wolf on eBay too, if it's cheap enough. Again, was poorly marketed as an "acid machine" when really it sounds more like a cheesy 70's organ accompaniment (so, my kind of thing). An 808, it ain't!  The ironic part is, the TB-303 failed as an bass accompaniment box for guitarists, before then being discovered by house producers. Wouldn't it be hilarious if the ill-fated "not aggressive enough" synths of the 2010's became the image of post-hypnagogic-muzak-ambient-pop in 2030?

And no, it's not just because these have "wolf" in the name and I can make Thomas Timberwolf (what an unfunny series) jokes I'm curious about these lol.

Also, expect some slight petering out of posts for a while because I'm being kicked out yet again. Going to move back in with my parents (as is my sister, farther north) because I don't see any place as particularly calling out to me, and also to save up dosh for when I do.
