Changelog 127-131 (Clocktower)

The Patreon chapters have been edited up to 131, even if 129 is currently what the public has access to, because CH 131 is extremely important and needed very urgent fixing. I always strive to do my best by my supporters and if doing a little extra work early - turning a 3500 chapter into over 6K in this case - can do right by you all, I want to do that.

----------------------

CH 127 - Lots of flavor text added, a lot of text fixed up. Orochimaru references that he knows what's going on with Sakura, that a part of targeting her is because of Minato. It's small but it's there. I don't know how much foreshadowing literally directly before something actually matters but I like to think all the small changes I've made to hint Clocktower a little better will make it go over better.

Ch 128 - A lot of wording fixes. I think I added like a thousand words of just pure wording fix and flavor text. This was just a badly written chapter and now it's not.

Ch 129 - Largely just a lot of flavor and description was added. I cleaned up a lot of lines, like at one point I accidentally said her Sharingan, which like obviously not.

Ch 130 - Some pretty massive flavortext was changed, almost 1500 words of wording fixes, better flair, flow, and logistical improvements were given. There's a small additional scene at the beginning with Ino noticing that Sakura should already be being saved and being angry she isn't. There's a small bit with the Jiraiya and Kakashi part to explain why they aren't already there before Sakura does the deed. There's even a small part included to go over why Sakura made that decision, and she actively tries to get the boys to go the fuck away instead of just assuming they'd be okay with dying painfully by her side (that was very out of character originally.) Probably some of the most significant chapter edits the story has ever seen, at least story and flow wise.

CH 131 - Clocktower - This is one I've wanted to just flat out redo for literally ever. I was very vague with it and left out a lot that I actually wanted to include. It was the perfect chance to expo drop but in a way people would enjoy, and there was zero reason to not go all out with it. I even wanted to go all out with it at the time. But a perfect storm of stresses and depression hit when I was writing it and it ended up being one of the most wasted opportunities in my writing I have ever managed.

Please, for the love of fuck, reread Clocktower. The new version is so different it's not even the same chapter and it frames everything in a very different way. This is how Arc 9 should have started, and if you haven't lost faith in me, believe in me this once and go reread it. The amount of new info contained alone makes it one of the most eye opening chapters in the entire story, and that's before what was already there.

I'm including the document version of 131 below, that's how serious I am.

Comments

The original woulda worked really well if Arc 9 went somewhere else. I think the confrontational, vague nature of it really clashed with "we're in a new world now guys!"

Christopher Cummins

I mean I liked the original, but this is nice too, really it's about what you like and are going for.
