About living on your own terms without caring about being judged by others. When he asks "what's your type of women", he doesn't really care about your specific preference, but rather he wants to see how honest you are with the way you answer. Megumi gave a thoughtful, diplomatic and politically-correct answer, which is why he "failed the test".
